Bradley Mechanical Brings Personal Touch To HVAC Customers

Doing Things Right

Bradley Mechanical is one of those beloved family-owned Richmond businesses that doesn’t require a Yelp review search to prove its popularity. The business comes by its sterling reputation from its knowledge and its dedication to bringing RVA the coolest HVAC products on the market.

The company has been around since 1969 when founder Dempsey Bradley decided to harness his entrepreneurial spirit with his wife and four young kids by his side and open his own HVAC company after spending years working for someone else. Driven by trusted relationships with area architects and the motto “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” Dempsey immediately secured contracts for major addition work with two local churches. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, so many years later, Dempsey’s son Brad has taken over the daily operations of Bradley Mechanical; Brad comes to Bradley Mechanical with his own wealth of HVAC knowledge after learning from the best in biz – he started working for his dad when he was just 13 years old. Both Dempsey and Brad’s mom, Gayle, are still active in the business and Brad’s wife, Sue, has even joined the company; when Bradley Mechanical calls themselves a family company, they mean it.

The Bradley Mechanical arsenal has since diversified since Dempsey got his start installing HVAC systems at new church construction sites. The company now installs water heaters, air purification systems, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers, duct systems, gas logs, garbage disposals, faucets, generators and, of course, offers service on existing equipment. They employ a solid team of skilled men and women who come to their jobs with the sort of specialized knowledge that definitely isn’t the norm; it’s clear Bradley sets super high standards for his business, both in the products they use and the people they employ.

With so many different products and services an offer, participating in the Richmond Home Show is imperative for Bradley Mechanical. It is Bradley’s opportunity to “meet people face-to-face, get a chance to hear their concerns and find a solution to their problems or a product to meet their needs.”

Bradley will bring Kohler Generators, Home Performance products, and Rinnai tankless water heaters, and he will talk visitors through their most pressing plumbing questions on the spot, demystify the inner working of dehumidifiers or give advice on how to make a home’s heating system more efficient.

Bradley says there are many quick, affordable way for homeowners to reduce heating costs. In fact, he says that the average home uses two times more energy than it needs to due to poor insulation and duct system leakage. With a simple Home and Duct Performance Test, Bradley Mechanical can pinpoint trouble areas causing energy waste. Bradley Mechanical even has an in-house scientist with over 40 years experience who performs these tests.

In addition to participating in the Richmond Home Show, Bradley Mechanical is also a sponsor. Bradley says he made the decision because “the show markets itself so well that it draws an engaged, educated customer who is the kind of customer we love.” As is always the case with a community-based business like Bradley Mechanical, it’s all about the people.
