Job Description

Plumbing Apprentices provide assistance to full-fledged Plumbers while improving their skills. Common duties for a Plumbing Apprentice include cutting and assembling pipes, cleaning water supply and disposal systems, handing in tools, cleaning job sites, and answering to customer inquiries. Workers should demonstrate the ability to follow guidelines, dexterity, customer service orientation, communication, and stamina.

  • Locating and identifying leaks
  • Repairing or replacing pipes and parts
  • Assist Master Plumbers with construction, soldering, and brazing pipes
  • Transported tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites as needed
  • Monitored and maintain plumbing tools for safe operating conditions
  • Assemble and install ceiling pipe brackets, while ensuring proper equipment and personnel safety
  • Motivated to learn and improve skills with the ambition to become a lead plumbing technician
  • Helping to ensure that all work is in accordance with federal, state, and local plumbing codes
  • Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.

Plumber Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training may be advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Adept at using the basic tools of the trade.
  • Good math skills for accurate measurements.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Strong active listening skills,
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
