Code Compliance and Corrections

Electric Code Compliance and Corrections

The National Electrical Code (NEC) is a regionally adoptable standard for the safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment within the United States. It is not a federal law but many states and localities adopt it in an effort to standardize the enforcement of safe electrical practices. As new standards of safety are defined and new technologies emerge, the code is updated and released every three years. In order to guarantee our work conforms to relevant codes, Bradley Mechanical’s electricians stay on top of any new changes that have been adopted and mandated.

A building with electrical code violations poses the potential for serious safety hazards and should be addressed by skilled and professional electricians immediately. There is a variety of issues that can cause a building to not meet code. Some of these include defective ground fault circuit interrupters, wrongly grounded receptacles, new light fixtures paired with old wiring or a poor job performed by an unskilled contractor.

If officials evaluate your building and find electrical conditions to be poor, they may issue a notice of violation. This can delay projects or even render a building uninhabitable. With the help of Bradley Mechanical electricians, you can be certain the electrical system of your residential or commercial building will always meet or exceed the necessary electrical codes. Our electricians can handle the entire code violation correction process and can get your building compliant with code once again.

If your building is not up to code and needs electrical code corrections, give Bradley Mechanical a call at (804) 748-6728. Do not hesitate on resolving electrical problems as they may bring potential penalties and fire hazards. Our team of electricians are always up to date with the National Electrical Code and can improve the safety of your building by making the proper corrections to get it compliant to code.
